Make ’em X12
My latest project was an interesting challenge, imitating all these wood imperfections out of pieces of thick leather make them look like random old boards. In this project I discovered so many different techniques to achieve this antique look, I can’t even name them. The fins on the board are made out of old moose antlers, my goal was to achieve most authentic shark teeth. The fact that people want to touch the board to believe that is not made out of wood is a testament that I reached my goal.
As a former professional athlete I’ve always been impressed by athletes with long careers. Every sports has it’s heroes, who reached their legendary status with multiple wins and sportsmanship, who never quit despite their age. I can name a legend like that in all of my favorite sports- Windsurfing – Robby Naish, Rowing – Steve Redgrave, Surfing – Kelly Slater X11 ASP World Tour Champion. GO KELLY MAKE ‘EM X12!
